Varberg Tunnel
The Varberg Tunnel Project is an extensive reconstruction of the Swedish west coast railway route, involving double tracks through Varberg and a three-kilometer-long tunnel beneath the city center. When the project is completed in the summer of 2025, more trains will be accommodated, reliability and safety will be enhanced, the urban environment will become quieter, and the city can expand.
For the new station area, as well as at both the northern and southern tunnel portals, Träullit has supplied over 9,000 square metres of Träullit Noise Barrier panels in our Cement Grey finish. The panels act as natural sound absorbers, effectively reducing noise levels generated by passing trains and rail traffic. The result is a calmer, healthier, and more pleasant environment for travellers, staff, and nearby residents alike.
