The Vasa Museum

The regal ship Vasa capsized and sank in Stockholm in 1628. After 333 years on the seabed, the mighty warship was salvaged and its journey could continue. To slowly acclimatize the warship to its new surroundings after being salvaged, it was continuously saturated with water over an extended period of time. This led to extraordinary demands being put on the museum’s capability to manage extreme levels of moisture. To handle this and balance the relative humidity as well as create a restful acoustic soundscape for staff and visitors, Träullit Acoustic was installed as interior ceiling panels throughout the building.

Today Vasa is the world’s best-preserved 17th-century ship and one of the most visited museums in all of Scandinavia.
