class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Tr\u00e4ullit was founded in 1946 by Lennart R\u00e4\u00e4f and his father, Axel R\u00e4\u00e4f, in the small municipality of Ydre in the province of \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland, Sweden. The idea of using wood fibres in building materials emerged after a relative visited Austria, where the technique of bonding wood wool with mineral binders had been used since the early 1900s. Lennart and Axel, who worked in wood tar production and other forest-based industries, quickly recognized the ingenuity of this simple yet efficient combination of Swedish spruce wood wool, cement, and water. Production soon began.<\/span><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><br><\/mark><br><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Initially, Tr\u00e4ullit focused on producing natural wood wool\u2013based insulation, but later expanded its product portfolio to include wood wool ceiling panels. During the first twenty years, all products were made entirely by hand. As demand for wood wool products continued to grow, an automated production line was installed in 1965 \u2014 at the same site where Tr\u00e4ullit\u2019s production remains to this day. Thanks to the material\u2019s wide range of functional characteristics \u2014 such as sound absorption, heat storage, moisture regulation, and fire resistance \u2014 the decision to continuously develop new products and broaden the product range came naturally.
